1919: 600 block of East Douglas, looking west. The above left photo was taken from the railroad overpass at Union Station. Note the World War I "Victory Arch" at Douglas & Broadway in the distance. Today all the buildings on the north (right) side of this block still stand, but every one on the south has been razed. Between the tracks and St. Francis now are Naftzger Park and the parking lot for the extinct Spaghetti Warehouse restaurant.
