1919: Allen-Lambe House, 255 N. Roosevelt. Designed by Frank Lloyd Wright in 1915 for journalist (and later Kansas Governor, and even later Kansas Senator) Henry J. Allen and his wife Elsie, who occupied it until 1947. A later owner sadly remodeled parts of the house, and some of the Wright-designed furniture is missing. A non-profit organization now works to preserve and restore the house.
