1922:
Kansas Theater, 221 E. Douglas. Wichita
gets a visit from movie stars Wilna Hervey and Dan Mason,
appearing here as their characters "Katrina" and
"The Skipper" from the popular Toonerville
Trolley film series. Mason also played "Pop Tuttle"
in another such series. One of Wichita's numerous extinct
theaters, the Kansas was razed to make way for the Woolworth's
store that has also since been torn down. In its place today
is the lovely Lewis Reflection Square Park, featuring a
tableau of life-sized bronze statues seated at a lunch counter.
