1930: Nu-Way Cafe, 1416 W. Douglas. Since July 4, 1930, Wichita's own Nu-Way Cafe has served countless loose-meat sandwiches -- and ice cream floats made with their own homemade root beer -- from this building on west Douglas. The company now has five stores throughout the city.
