1997: Demolition of the Crest Theater, 4825 E. Douglas. After sitting vacant for eight years, the venerable Crest was razed in November of 1997, as was the adjacent former Lewin's women's clothing store. Today the popular wood-fired pizzeria Il Vicino and the Healing Waters Spa stand in the same spots.
